1st pic of 'The Thing' prequel

Where's the spoiler tag ? ....that ruined the whole movie for me. I was hoping for a tropical setting. man.....bummer

Knowing how things turn out for the team from the Norwegian base from the start of the "The Thing", I hope they don't try to pull some crap to change the ending of this and muck it up. Maybe the Mary Elizabeth Winstead character will be the one to get taken over and end up killing off everyone and mutating in to the dog that winds up in the other camp.

Why do they have to use fake snow? Aren't they filming in Canada? Isn't it covered with snow?

I keed. I keed. ;)

Dude...I hope they don't screw this up. I loved Carpenters version:thumbsup
Dropshipbob, a friend sent me a link to a Thing fan forum, and I am guessing it was you (same username) created some custom Thing figures, and I have to say.....AWESOME!!! If it was you, and you have not posted them here, you should. I think they are extremly well done.

I had no idea they were doing this. So I looked it up. First, I see that Carpenter is not attached. Second... the '82 version was good because of practical FX. I have no doubt that if we go the "more is more" route that Carpenter went, it'll be mucked up with a bunch of CGI. Ugh! How I hate CGI in my horror movies. Unless it’s used to blend subtly with practical FX, it completely takes me out of the moment. CGI is fine in Sci-Fi movies, but in a horror movie, I can tell it’s CGI and thus, does not scare me.

So I shall take this with news with trepidation.

I fail to see what a Arctic station have anything to do with the Thing?

It's in a quarry, so they're blasting it with snow. My friend is working on it now and I've seen some stuff from the set - and it's looking pretty dang cool!!

Anybody know how to say "I don't know what it is, but it's weird and pissed off" in Norwegian? :D
