I remember there was a topic here years ago with Darth Vader photos from various promotional tours. Well, I could not find mine... until today.

I posted the rest of the photos on my blog (click for higher res): LINK

What kind of suit is this? Anyone else here get a visit to their town, circa 1980? Mine was in the Sacramento, CA area.

There were many tour/promotional suits made. None were comprised of any screen used hard or soft parts.
The only "tour" costume which is an exception to this is the one Kermit Eller wore circa 1978, which just happened to be THE original ANH suit.
The tour costumes utilized some cast from original pieces (such as the helmet, armor, chestbox, shins). Belts were cobbled together using all kinds of different pieces using mostly incorrect found parts. The fabric and leather pieces, although loosly based on original patterns, do not match their screen counterparts. Their construction and fabrics to not match either.

Pretty funky looking suit noticed he has his belt on upside down straight away

Cool pictures thanks

Interesting pic...

Tho, methinks someone slipped a bunch of Slim Fast into 'ol DV's nourishment system.... :lol

When the Scienece Museum of Virginia opened their planetarium back in the early 80's David Prowse showed up in costume to promote the opening. I remember standing in line for quite some time for an autograph.
