Interest 1408 - Dolphin Hotel Key

Just had to set up this little display... :)

Wow, that's nice! Can I ask what type of alarm clock this is and where you got the Dolphin plaque? Great pic!
 
The clock is all custom made. It's all resin from a mold, none of the switches are functional (all one piece of resin), the 'chrome' is silver tape... It looks like parts of it (at least) were molded from real clock radio parts, but there's no obvious indication of what it might have been (might have been made from more than one). I've never found a real clock that looks exactly like it.

The plaque was used on the outer pillars of the hotel just as you go in the main door. There were two of them, not sure where the other one ended up... It's actually 1/8" think etched/painted brass too, about the same thickness as the key hanger you made. :)

Yep, they are the real things (see the link Clutch posted above)... I have the book he signed in the movie, and a burned-up version of his computer too...
That's why I needed this key so bad! :) Figured since I didn't have a screen-used one, I'd at least get a cool replica to go along with the clock.
 
Nice 1408 collection you have there! That radio is so cool, especially since most of it still works...

I had some requests if more of these keys were available. If there is enoug interest, I might do a second run of these. Just let it know in this thread. Price of the previous ones was €45 without shipping. Prince now would probably a bit higher, depending on how much interest there is. Bit it gives you an idea about the final price...
 
Thanks guys... I guess I'll need 5 people at least to do another run for the keys and hangers to be at an acceptable price. Let's see if there is more interest...
 
If you can get 4 people, I'll jump in and be the 5th. I have one of these and I love it. I'd buy a second one. :D
 
The hanger was €45, the set with the key was somewhere between €70 and €80, without shipping, if I'm not mistaken. Don't remember exactly, but it should certainly be not more than €100. These things are heavy! I'll come back with a more exact price quote soon...
 
OK. I'll have 5 extra sets (key + hanger) made. Price will be somewhere between €80 and €100 (shipping not included). Please shout when you want one and are OK with the price. Once these 5 are gone, they're gone... I will only ask payment when I have the keys in hand.
