Just watched both videos, I've already got a few ideas for patterns! Can't wait for the next video.

Just a quick update. I've ordered more materials to make another puppet. When I get everything I need, I'll start posting some step by step videos and photos.

What sort of timeframe are you looking at for completion?

I hear that. I guess what I'm getting at is what a reasonable number of hours spent on a complete puppet is.

As someone just getting into the hobby, I'm trying to budget my time effectively.

I'm about to start on a new puppet pretty soon and will do a full video how to on the process, for those who are interested.

I'm having trouble coming up with ideas on what kind of character I want to make though. Any ideas? I was thinking of kind of a Hillbilly/pig farmer guy. Straw hat, freckles, buck teeth, overalls, etc.
I'm open to suggestions.

Suggestion for your humanoid character: How about an old pilot from the 30s or 40s? With goggles etc. Maybe even a pharoe(sp) with a septor and head garb. Just a couple of suggestions since you asked. ;-) Keep up the good work!
 
I like the pilot idea. I've been slowly collecting some materials here and there but real life gets in the way so I haven't been able to officially start on it. Maybe after the holidays I'll be able to kick off the series.
 
Really cool stuff Trent. I've always been a fan of puppeteering. This has inspired me to swtich from adoring fan, to actually go out and try my hand at making one. Thanks for the vids.
