1:2 scale Yoda

For years I have wanted a 1:1 scale Yoda, but since I work at Kroger I can't really afford to drop anywhere from $300 for a Phantom Menace statue (which while well made looks awful) to $1,000 for one of the really nice fan made Empire Strikes Back Yoda's. So I was about to give up on having a Yoda replica when I stumbled upon this. This little guy is from the star tours ride. I got him from the disney store website for $35 shipped. At 18 inches tall he is perfectly half scale. He looks like Revenge of the Sith Yoda, which is ok although I would have preferred a more ESB look. His entire body is made of latex and has a soft squishy feel like its filled with foam, he weighs about 2 pounds. There is a bendable wire in the arms and legs so you can pose him slightly. The hair is not the greatest but not terrible and the sculpt is pretty good. I plan on making a black wood base for him with a name plate and a plastic top to keep dust off. And then I wanna give him some accessories, I plan on making a walking stick for him and tracking down a master replicas .45 scale yoda lightsaber for him to have on his belt. All said and done a really good and cheap option for a nice Yoda for budget minded collectors out there.

Here you can see the size comparison with my interactive R2D2 which is 15 inches tall. Also my cat had no idea what to make of Yoda and R2.

And here's the finished product. The case is a little cheap but doesnt look too bad with Yoda in it. Still need to track down a yoda .45 master replicas lightsaber. But as of now this piece is pretty much done. Not bad for under $100 total.

Very nice indeed ... :) ... just a quick question is Yoda's hair experiencing some sort of static electricity from the plastic cover ... or is he just plain angry for having been deceived by Palpatine/Darth Sidious in the clone wars?

LOL. Thanks man! Actually its due to the way his hair is punched in. It doesnt look as bad in person. I try to "brush" it back down with my hand every now and then. It was a lot worse when I opened him out of the package.
