Finally got this done.

A big thanks to...

Finhead for the armor
Kevin Gossett for the gauntlet build and the paintwork
therealstark for the unibeam and eye lights
BrentM for the reference pics
SimmonM and ave4uevoli for all their advice! :D

I think it turned out pretty sweet. I had to do sort of an idealized version with limited reference pics available. The power button for the unibeam and eyes is up in the torso. Therealstark also hooked me up with a small button that, when pushed, causes the lights to flicker on and off...simulating "working" on the torso...a cool touch.

I thought it would be a pretty unique display, as I don't think I've ever seen one. It's very dark and poorly lit in my man cave, so sorry for the crappy flash pics.

Absolutely incredible, Brad! It looks perfect in its new home :thumbsup

Re: Ironman "Hanging Torso" prop...

I like this style of display, it's something different from the usual full suits. Though that scene did make me wonder why he had it like that instead of tearing it down.

Re: Ironman "Hanging Torso" prop...

Turned out awesome Brad! I agree with Wes - I love 'different' displays and this one certainly fills that bill. I saw the little light-flickering demonstration and the effect is awesome. So on the money with this type of display. I can only imagine what this looks like in person with the room lights dimmed and all the electronics on ...

Re: Ironman "Hanging Torso" prop...

You should add blue lights inside the arm like in the last photo above, I think that would give it a pretty cool ethereal look when displayed and on.
I can't get over how great this is, I was following the build of the gauntlet and the rest of it as well, crazy stuff!

Wow . . . what a unique and awesome looking piece. Just needs some kind of industrial backdrop to hang it in front of.

Re: Ironman "Hanging Torso" prop...

thanks guys

Yeah, I've thought about light for the elbow joints, but honestly just sorta ran out of energy...actually, I don't think those lights are in the movie, but only in that one pic

Re: Ironman "Hanging Torso" prop...

Yeah, the blue lights are only in that promo pic, not in the movie. Still a nice effect though :)

Re: Ironman "Hanging Torso" prop...

Added some more accurate red wire and took out some less accurate stuff.

Just a couple updated pics...
