The progress is just excellent--I always love seeing how people vacuum-form as I don't have the moxy to try it yet myself. Nicely detailed and the pics turned out very easy to follow!

I've used some stuff called Hobbylite Filler. It's really easy to mold, sands easily and dries cleanly.
