The other Jawa blaster (the one not made from an Enfield.)

I was always under the impression that the 'business end' was an after market Volkswagen 'stinger' type tail pipe. The ones that stuck straight up from the back end of modded dune buggies in the '70s and '80s.

Any Experience on this Terminator Kit?

I built one for a friend in the mid-90's. It's a good kit. The parts fit neatly. Because it is so small and well detailed, I opted to paint it black with an overlay of (I don't think it's available anymore) Ral Partha Dragonscale Silver metallic wax. When buffed and clearcoated it gave a good...

My clear coat frosted. can I repair? Please..

I've always had luck with buying a fresh batch of clear and respraying the project. The new coat emulsifys the old and takes the fog out. Just make sure you are thorough with the layer you spray. But then, that's my solution. Your experience may vary.

    Halloween 2013 thread

Nope. A lot of booze will be flowing at these parties. I had to make sure that my props were instantly recognizable and inexpensive, so if I dropped one or set it down the loss would be negligible!

    Halloween 2013 thread

Going as Walter Sobchak from 'The Big Lebowski'. Props include a Yuban can full of Donnie's ashes, a .45, and wadded up homework. Mark it zero!!

What's your biggest prop regret or guilt?

Ugh. I regret being generous, or gullible- whichever fits. Seventeen years ago I found out through the old SciFi magazine about lightsabers and graflexes, kobolds and MPPs and King Sols. I went on a whirlwind tour of every camera shop in Riverside and San Bernardino county and snapped up a...

    Dredd (2012) Lawgiver Defined Thread!

Not to derail, but a bit of nerd history, sparked by the old comic illustrations: Back in the day (er, mid-eighties), Citadel Miniatures made lead/pewter models for the Dredd RPG, as well as the Rogue Trooper RPG. If you play Warhammer 40,000 or Necromunda, these Judge miniatures survive as...

Rarest prop replica (or real prop) you own

I have a Totokia that I picked up fifteen years ago from the Fiji Trade Commissioner here in Los Angeles. After years of having it around my house, I showed it to Tony Swatton. He is going to help me make the accurate metal mace-end of it. It's not screen accurate- but I think it is a little...

    The Tesla Rifle

Right? Used to use a set of these every day throughout the late 80's... I thought, ' put the barrel in a chain vise, pour some oil on it and give your 'flash-hider' a stout crank...you'll be amazed at what happens!!' And it is a nice rifle.

An intro and some of my props

That die is gonna make the barrel REAL tip-heavy... but it will LOOK amazing!

    Worst "edited for TV' movies

Got it all beat. 'Cheech and Chong's Next Movie'. They changed the ENTIRE plot to avoid any reference to marijuana. Even to the point of replacing entire shots of bud-filled bags and fields to shots of 'diamonds'. Laughably bad.

Star Wars Exhibit back in Southern California

Saw this with my son when it was in LA. The Discovery Science Center was one of his favorite places when he was a little-little kid- He's 16 now, so we're gonna have to go this year for sure. This makes me want to find a Sandcrawler kit to buy and build.
