It is called pilling I believe. You can burn them of with a lighter. Just touch the fabric lightly with the flame or else you'll probably feel sorry for quite a while...

TheTaurus, you can use a simple lighter to carefully burn the pillings of. I have to do this on my deadpool dye sub all the time. You will have to be carefull with the suit though. Even a backpack might cause some of those white fibers dticking out.

I believe everybody uses carpaint for their builds. I can imagine that if you fibreglass the outside you will lose a significant amount of detail.You might want to fibreglass the inside and resin the outside, from there you just add bondo or any other filler and after sanding the living *****...
