I know it's an old post, but here a few pics from my 3d printed replica. It's hollow and ready to add electronics.

With the help of the forum and finally having the real parts in hand I was able to adjust the 3d models and print the prop.

It's some sort of machined part, like a fork, people from the forum recognized it as being sold by bob's bits in UK. A member of the forum made a 3d model of it so I just cut it and put it in place.

Same experience. The third order was the correct size :

after some struggle I was able to find and make all the parts necessary. Here is the end result, I am really happy with it. If there is enough interest I am willing to make a small run for friends. It will not be a big run because I am printing it really slow. If interested pls drop me a msg.

Looking at different 3D models I suspect that the actual prop was 3D scanned and scaled down, what we see on screen is a 3D print. The same collet is used for Rey's staff and later on for her yellow lightsaber. But it appears to be scaled down. I am curious what would you say about it? Thanks...

Recently bought from a Chinese site, it is the correct shape but wrong size - diameter 52mm, length 69mm.

TK41434 , I doubt that you can buy this collet in Germany, it is an old Burnerd multi size collet number MC 10 but I suspect MC8, MC9 models can work too. You can buy an old one from ebay, it will be quite pricey tho. Or you can take a resin cast or 3d print as I am going to do. Edit : the...

Thanks woodywaverider ! Please when you are back measure the diameter and the length of the transparent lid, and the diameter of the circular part on the collet. I am going to 3d print the collet and I want to scale it appropriately to match the look.

Guys, I will try to recreate the koolshade effect via 3d printing. Can you help me please with its dimensions? I am asking for 23 louvre material, but I think mechanically they are identical, the 23 type being compressed from 17 louvre.
