    Met the guys from Just Add Sharks a few times at Makerfaire and EMF and they're a great lot. Use to use their A0 machine at my old hackserspace too. If you're a hobbyist wanting to mess around with a laser cutter then I'd advise one. I wouldn't want to use one day in day out professionally...

    3D Scanning advice

    What objects do you have to scan? If you've got stuff with a load of overhangs, is back or is glossy, most of the hobby/prosumer grade scanners have problems scanning them accurately.

    Hellboy Good Samaritan (comic book version)

    After watching Adam Savage's latest one day build, I figured I'd take a go at designing a Good Samaritan. Planning to make it using a mix of 3D printing and laser cutting. If I can get my head around it, the hammer and trigger will work and the barrel should open to reload it.

    Ethyl Acetate is a solvent of PLA, so you ca vapour smooth PLA with it.
