After a very long hiatus I am back. Life got in the way and this project sort of stalled but recently I have gotten back into it. First of all I got all my lights working and I am happy with how they turned out. I have also been working on building a mannequin. Having had years now to stare at...
It is different, however I think the gunmetal I used on the face is probably darker than the original. I might test the same paint I used on the helmet on the back of the armor and see how it looks against the black parts. Either way I'll probably go over it with something a little closer to the...
I didn't exactly nail the color choice for the grey areas but for now I don't think I'm going to change it, the camera on my phone isn't doing it any favors either. Still needs some touch up in a few spots but I couldn't resist setting it up again to see how it looks, I even used an old...
I'm back with some major progress, all the armor pieces are cast and primed. Here's a few shots and a little mock up I did with the helmet I made to see how it will all fit together.

Starting to add some of the details. I plan on getting one side finished then mirroring the other side using some good old calipers and paper templates. If my assumptions are correct the original piece was somewhat asymmetrical, for my sculpt I'm going to shoot for something a little more...
I started in on the chest piece yesterday. Throwing some clay around and getting the main shape roughed in, just the front for now. I'm confused about the contour of the front since I'm having a hard time finding any pictures from directly above or below. Is it flat all the way across the...
I'm back with some major progress! I just pulled some casts of the shoulders and shins. They still need to be cleaned up, and a few minor adjustments made with some bondo but overall I am pleased with the results. I didn't get too accurate with these parts but I'm starting in on the main chest...
I got the general shape of the shoulder bell roughed out, wanted to make sure I was on the right track with scale and over all shape before I added any details. I plan on making it more symmetrical than the original piece, just my personal preference. After I have sculpted the shoulder bell I...
