Glad to see this thread isn't dead! As for the mask, the red mesh fabric used is a bit stiffer than plain spandex, and it was patterned out on a head form with a faceshell. The result is a mask that's fitted for a shell, but stiff enough to support itself without one.

Homestretch! The eyes are finally attached to the mask. The magnetic lenses turned out perfectly! I ultimately decided to go with the classic solid "tick" spider on the back. Yet more flexi-dip was used for a rubbery texture, but it looks like the Texas humidity caused some cracking :(...

Little update. I've found a way to keep the boots in place without any form of hooks or button snaps! How did I accomplish such a feat, you may ask? Fabric interfacing and hot glue! The interfacing stabilizes the opening of the boot, and the hot glue acts as a grip against the pants. Once...

Today has been productive! I've coated the bottoms of the boots with a generous amount of red flexi dip. Hopefully this will prevent embarrassing slips and faceplants. And the focal point, the mask! Without a faceshell to attach to, I have to devise a way to keep the lenses aligned. My plan...

The entire torso is now webbed! I'll need to add stirrups to the sleeves to keep them from sliding up my arms. Now to figure out the back spider. It's a toss up between puff paint, fabric spray paint, and top sewing red fabric. I'll definitely be going with the classic "fat tick" look, though...
