Sorry for the slow reply... I just did mine on a case-by-case basis. On some I used some stiff wire to shape and bend around as a guide and then cut and made the hoses and cable to match

Does anyone out there know if there is a film canon weight for the Proton Pack? I know the prop was around 30-35 lbs, but, I mean the fictional weight, feels like it should be a fair bit more than that.

To be honest, neither did I, I've been learning more about it as I've been using it and it's really becoming a material that I can see myself using more, once you get a feel for the cutting of the angles it's just nice to work with.... It's kinda like an industrial styrene board :)
