    MattyCollector "Mattel Hoverboard" discussion

What Mattel could not do with all their resources, two individuals have already knocked out screen accurate graphics. Mattycollector graphics look amateurish by comparison.

Scott Neitlich should have tempered expectations. Instead He went into marketing/Salesman pitch mode in the video, to over hype the Matty Collector Hoverboard. Mattel line of thinking was that they will buy our crap regardless of accuracy or quality. This was a half assed effort, Mattel deserves...

My post about Gizmodo was to dispute Scott about getting good press. I am so disappointed at this effort or lack of. The board as a static display piece is dull, the elements like the lenticular and fur would have been so much nicer. Mattel has all the resources at their disposal, they take...

Scott Neitlich A.K.A Flim Flam Man is over there barking out words such as Proud, Good Press and it's on track to sell out. Bob Gale has rebuked Mattel for their unethical behavior. Unbelievable, they have no Shame for this piece of crap they sold to the general public.

This is a static display piece for most people. I don't do cosplay. Mattel can spring for a reflective She-Ra sticker and that's only a 20.00 fig, Pay 130.00 and you get a cheap slapped on sticker. The decal element should have been spot on. Mattel Design has all the tools and they said screw it.

I've decided to keep the board, but the decal has to go. Will this pattern work in clear? Honeycomb

There it is. The money quote that sums up that Mattycollector is just limping along. This not so much a prop, but a toy with all the trappings of toy safety standards.

Scott Neitlich aka toyguru gets a lot of grief. So i'm not going to blame him for tempering fan expectations ahead of NYCC. I will be very disappointed if Mattel Design didn't consult with Summers Plastics.

Well looks like Bratty Matty is going with a decal only, so no layered effect or lenticular. It's too hard to cut Velcro like material and apply it to the board. I guess the Barbie Division expertise in fabrics is off limits. Ha!

Just Damn........... The freaking company who made the lenticular is an e-mail/phone call away from Mattel. The Hero Board is the still the way to go. It will make a more dynamic display piece, the board should be layered with multiple elements. The Lenticular, rotating foot pad, velcro and fur...

I'm reading comments saying designed as a toy. So instead of a true prop we are getting a stylized hoverboard made by Mattel? They should have just told the public this from the start, explain they have toy safety standards they simply must abide by.

I don't like the flat graphics of the stunt board. Why can't Mattel Design consult with Sommers Plastics? Is it a licensing issue to use their honeycomb pattern? Something doesn't add up with the pattern looking so different.
