Star Wars Force Awakens Sovereign Protector

This was the original Royal Guard helmet I made a few months ago before I decided to redesign it. I'll probably turn it into a Shadowtrooper instead along side the Sovereign Protector in the image below but with glowing eyes similar to those stormtroopers next to Vader.

Star Wars Force Awakens Sovereign Protector

Thanks, I was doing some research on Royal Guards and into a character called Carnor Jax. His color scheme inspired this look. I felt like I needed to update the armor though to fit in the Force Awakens style and make the helmet more functional. There's also a little Jedi Killer in there.

Star Wars Force Awakens Sovereign Protector

Good to be back, it's been years since I've shared a new build. Here's my work in progress on my concept for a Royal Guard/Sovereign Protector. I made a couple of sketches of different helmet styles and pursued the one I liked the most. I've attached the rendered look I'm going for.

    Fully 3D Printed Functional MK 42 !! :0

Thanks for that info, that gives me a better idea on how much time and money I need to commit to this. Jumping around in a boot made from a 3d printer is impressive.

    Fully 3D Printed Functional MK 42 !! :0

Can't wait to see more this is fantastic. I also had the opportunity to invest in a 3d printer from kickstarter and it should be in a couple of weeks. I have a couple of questions. - Do you feel the suit will hold up without fiberglass reinforcement. - How many hours a day do have the machine...

New Ideas of building Iron Man Armor /PVC + perfect 45° cuts

Hello JonnyGuns, I just wanted to share my experience with using these material. I've used Sintra, Celtec and InteFoam while they all have the same features (can be bent with a heatgun, rigid, can accept bondo and resin/fiberglass) they have slight differences . Sintra: Works well with Crazy...

Iron man mark vii cardboard/celtic/InteFoam/AVENT Suit concept

Thanks for reminding me I just picked some up. The loctite pro works. You'll have maybe 2- 3 seconds before it bonds together. Loctite makes more than one professional glue but this is the one I used. If you're in the US they have it at the Home Depot for $5.97 otherwise try the local hardware...

Iron man mark vii cardboard/celtic/InteFoam/AVENT Suit concept

Re: Iron man mark vii cardboard/celtec pg 4/InteFoam pg 8 simul8r - The pvc foam is just as rigid as a reinforced cardboard or pepakura but I would still fiberglass the pvc foam once you're done just to prevent it from breaking along the seems. I'll try to post a video me walking. It can be...

Foamex pvc sheet & mitrebond contact adhesive

Re: If you wanna plastic coat foam why not just make it out of this stuff???? Thanks RED DRAGON. I have to make a correction to my earlier post. The PVC foam is softer than Sintra/Celtec and much easier to work with. This may or may not save you some money since you're over seas but here's a...

Iron man mark vii cardboard/celtic/InteFoam/AVENT Suit concept

Re: Iron man mark vii cardboard/celtec pg 4/InteFoam pg 8 I'm sorry to hear you're having a hard time. The chest piece took me a couple of days to build and I didn't cut the uni beam hole til months later. I have gaps when I built mine too but I filled it in with putty (not body filler). If...

Iron man mark vii cardboard/celtic/InteFoam/AVENT Suit concept

Re: Iron man mark vii cardboard/celtec pvc build - More pics 10/9 I received the new material today and tested it out a little bit. As it turns out this board is softer than Sintra/Celtec which means it's easier to cut and you can still bend it with a heat gun. I would categorize this material...

Iron man mark vii cardboard/celtic/InteFoam/AVENT Suit concept

Re: Iron man mark vii cardboard/celtec pvc build - More pics 10/9 darkside501st - $20 for a 4'x8' sheet = 10 18"x24" sheets. At about $2 a sheet, that's a great deal and it's local. I need to find something like that here.
