So I've been working on a 3d print of the new T-60b power armour helmet from Fallout 4. This was commissioned from Renraku props just before the Renders were leaked so there are a few details i need to add. The plan is to cast this down the line.
Stay tuned :)
So I'm back after a crazy amazing weekend and just figured i would give a quick rundown on what i did, who i saw etc.
So i flew down to Melb and packed everything into a hard shell case (well its a bit flexible actually) and was hoping that nothing bad would happen.
Well...
Half a tube of...
YAY! It's DONE!
Different views (Ive got shorts under this so its a bit baggy)
A fwe shots in better light.
The bits and pieces.
Thanks to my amazing partner for the sewing!
Not many more things to post now :)
Helmet padding.
Note that in practice this helmet flops around like nothing else, only the padding on the jaw stops it.
LEDs installed and and weathering finished :) Everything you see here is done! (Except for the helmet padding. Doing that in about an hour after dinner.) In hindsight i should have used blue acrylic for the LEDs as clear painted blue didn't really work out too well. At least to the level i...
In exactly 1 week we will be in Melb... ONE WEEK! LOL NOTSTRESSED.
So the helmet paint is done! Still needs clearcoat, fans and LEDs to be complete. Body had the dirty weathering finished, gonna scratch it up tomorrow. Then add the LEDs. The plan is to drill through the print and glue a small...
Yeah its a familiarity thing. I started with no 3d modeling experience and Sketchup is the easiest to bash out simple things.
I use Blender to do model smoothing and shell commands but nothing else. (Its scary to use lol) Or i get a friend to use Max/Maya.
Netfabb free does great slicing and...
Heya Msleeper,
Sure :)
I start with a 1:1 scale human figure in netfabb which i have scaled to my height (One day ill try and scan my body... more acurate around the middle lol).
- When everything is to size i add a shell of 3mm to the entire model.
- I made a cube based on the print bed size...
Masking is off and there is paint bleed again. (I'm either rushing or the tape is ****** lol) Weathering will fix it right up tho.
Isn't it glorious though? :D
Body and helmet masked up ready for paint. (Already painted and there were some crackling in patches. Not sure what caused it but weathering will hide it)
Rifle is done and sealed except for a few gold details and some labels.
