Hi all, So i'm in the process of sculpting a Yoda head to cast into latex and make a full working puppet. I've attached wire for the ears however the lengh is confusing me. In some photo's they look very long overs very short. Anybody have a rough Idea on what sort of lengh they should be?

Wouldn't using plaster strips lose some of the detail of the sculpt? Whenever I've cast a mask its just been two halfs using plaster. I thought this would be more or less the same principal.

Lol! Yeah I know the feeling. It's a rubber boot cover so it will have no sole so it can be worn over a trainer or something. Just trying to work out if using wet clay for the dividing wall or playing cards. Both have pros and cons.

Thanks for the advice. It's the mixing plaster I always mess up on. How much plaster+water do you need to mix up per layer? That always confuses me.

That's great thanks for the info. Now my next question. Just brought 5kg of of hard plaster. Will that be enough for a two part mold of a boot do you think?

Same here. I've just started the head with moving mouth much like many others on this site. Problem is in the UK materials are hard to come by and expensive. My only problem at the moment is the feet. Looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with.

Re: Ninja Turtles costume question. Ok mask is done. Just need work on the eyes and still undecided on the bandana material. As this was my first go at casting a mask and using latex it shrank a little but fits nicely on my head to the point where when I talk the mouth moves. Now to move...

I see your point. However there seem's to be a basic texture to all the masks in the films. it's the shape that show's charecter. It's Donatello that I'm making as he seem's to get the least love when it comes to costumes.
