1 1/2" long screws.
And by cutting an angle on the wood than trimming off the extra it allows it just enough room to open and clap but stopping it from opening too much.
Really digging the overall shape and such.

You can acquire a normal sized clapper on eBay or Amazon for under twenty but on top of being big and bulky it's very, for lack of better words, plan.
I can't remember exactly what production I first saw this style of clapperboard, but I loved it instantly.
And screw it for extra security seeing as how it's going to have a lot of writing and erasing being done on it.
