Show us your Star Trek costume

What can you do for 4 Star Trek crewman with a $100 budget and 2 weeks to go before Halloween (or your next convention). Well here you go, I know it doesn't meet the accuracy standards of the many fine cosplayers here but my three sons were very happy to be my crew.

The tunics are modified long sleeve cotton T-shirts (yes I know my yellow is way to bright - I'm calling it the "animated version"). The phasers and tricorders are made from cardboard and a lot (really quite a lot) of duct tape and some miscellaneous greeblies. The communicators are modified $1 disney princess flip phones painted black and gold and painstakingly drilled until 4AM one evening.

Did the little guy volunteer to be the doomed red shirt or was it voted upon by his siblings? :)

Great budget build.

I love these- those budget phasers are great! Great first post, too!

I helped my friend shoot a few insert shots for the fanfilm STARSHIP EXETER. We were shooting inserts to help finally finish the film. I brought my Anovos tunic and we had a little fun photo shoot. Originally, my friend — one of the producers/editors on the production (he also contributed story elements) — wanted to have a still in the end credits that suggested an "unseen" Exeter episode. However, it didn't make it into the final episode.

The first photo was a vanity headshot. The second was the photo for the slide in the end credits. He had the actual B'Fuselek costume, makeup, wig/antennae for the insert shoot. We needed a shot of B'Fuselek's hands working the helm. Check out the behind-the-scenes pic:

And here I am at SDCC 2013 wearing my Anovos '09 tunic, taken by a professional photographer walking the exhibit hall.

Can't wait to take pics with my Anovos first-season captain's wrap when it arrives!

Here's my TNG costume from Anovos. I know understand why the actors were constantly tugging on their tunics...

I haven't made any Trek stuff for myself yet, but I made a DS9 uniform for a friend, which he debuted at GenCon last week: I didn't get to fit it on him while I was making it, so it doesn't fit as well as it could have (the sleeves are a bit short, for one), but I'm pleased with it overall, and he's satisfied, which is what matters.

...I also made this garish flannel shirt for my sister, and I am very proud.

Well... to some this isn't star trek. It is to me.

Khan Noonien Singh/John Harrison from Star Trek into Darkness... I really really love the outfits in that movie.
