Hi. My lastest personal projects are finally done.
1:1 scale Luke ROTJ lightsabers Hero and V2 prop replicas.
Both are custom static hilts made by "Anakin Starkiller"
Hero´s control box and internals made from scratch. Tried to get accuracy. V2 weathered by hand following real prop reference
Both painted with 2k paints for super tought adhesion over aluminium.
Hope you like them!

Hey Inigou! That's a very handsome set of lightsabers you have there!

The Hero control box is outstanding, and the photography on pic 09.jpg is the dream shot we all hope to get of the original someday!!!

Congratulations on two jobs well done.

Thanks guys. Really appreciate your words!
ROTJ marked my childhood so those lightsabers deserve the effort :)

These are absolutely beautiful... I've never really been a fan of the Obi/Luke saber but holy crap, this makes me want to get one of Anakin Starkiller's kits...

Wowza, especially the control box on the hero! Really nice work! I feel like the V2 could be physically beaten up more, but the paint job is definitely one of the best I've seen. I love how you've started with the templates but done a lot of real world chipping/scratching to minimize the templated look. And that control box!

Thanks!

Love the V2! What are 2k paints...?

Sean

Are paints used in automotive. Based on 2 components that get cured, not dried, once the catalyzer get mixed. The one I use is a black epoxy primer. Is not easy to work with in this lightsaber design with those ribs and corners as has to be sanded (has a coarse texture) but you obtain an excellent adherence to bare metals like aluminum. The worst part is that you have around 72 hours to finish until the paint gets hardened into the can once activated.
hope this helps
