I was a bit younger when I built my first proton pack, I had quite a bit of help from my Grandfather. He basically did everything, I just attached stuff together. The ole thing is just about ten years old. It has seen many comic cons and has served me well. It's currently being used by members of the Hollywood Ghostbusters (we're on facebook!)
It wasn't a bad pack. But, I think it's time for an upgrade. I'm using the not so favored studio creations abs shell, parts from Hole in the Ground, and some parts I managed to snag on EBay.
The motherboard is a little big unfortunately, or the shell is a little too small? Whatever the case, I tried my best to center the thing.
I've been epoxy'ing threaded rod into some of these resin pieces to bolt them onto the shell
With some files and the dremel I managed to get the power cell window cut. I actually have some colored lenses for the power cell and cyclotron. (Ignore the gap under the booster tube)
Thats what four days of work has yielded so far. I'm also scratch building a pack for a friend of mine (more on that later maybe).
