Planet of the Apes Spacecraft

I've just finished a scratchbuild of the ship from the first two 'Apes' films. (I know the third film and TV version was slightly different to this one). It is about 30cm long and made from plasticard and milliput. The landing leg is partly for display and partly because I thought that, just for once, it would be nice to see it landed rather than crashed!

Very well done! The photography has a strong "Thunderbirds" look to it.

Thanks. I've photographed a lot of my Thunderbirds models, I must be developing a habit!

The Icarus is one of my remaining grail kits, but yours makes it tempting to just dive in and scratch build one. Do you have any build photos?

Thanks. Sorry I didn't take any build photos. It was just a plan view cut out of plasticard. Plasticard ribs added and the bulk of the spaces between them was filled with balsa. A skin of milliput put over all of that and loads of boring sanding!
