Hello,

after a long time searching for a 2003 dv sabre I finally gotten one yesterday (I live in the netherlands and you dont find them that often here)

I found a "perfect" condition one.........but after getting a beat up box I found a very dirty sabre with a glued blade in the enmitter ):-(
the lady who sold it still found it in perfect condition and did not want to refund. The pictures looked good.

After sleeping on it for a night I opened the sabre. The enmitter seems to be glue to the blade. It works great and the lights all are bright.

My questions:

how should I remove the enmitter? The top silver knob is now broken off. Should it matter in removing the blade?

Is there a replacement blade that looks like the original? Or want can I use that I can find in the netherlands/ europe? Can the top of the blade be removed?

I really really want to save this sabre!!

Greetings from the netherlands,

BasD

Can I see some pictures of it? I think I can probably help you out.

Hello ,

thanks , here are some shots. You can see the glue around the enmitter. The top silverknob broke off. I can slide the blade and the black plastic housing out of the handle without problems.

Hi Bas,

If the leds inside the blade still work ... with the red light FX going up and down + sound FX ... then please leave that blade alone ... do not attempt to remove it because the 2003 version is not a removable blade variant and you can damage the internal wires or whatever . . . So tell us why you're so keen to remove this blade if it's still functioning properly?

Hallo Chaim,

the sabre works good and displays perfect but it just bugs me that it is glued :-/
it has a very light "wobbel" effect when you swing it around.

I really hope I can get a clear plastic tube in the correct size master replicas used and just replace the blade.

Is it harder to remove the lights from a 2003 than the other editions?

Greetings Bas

ps The sabre also came from groningen :)

Huh funny. I just acquired this exact version of the MR fx but with it already gutted. The thumb screw also broke off just like yours did.

The best advice I already gave you 'leave it alone' ... do not mind the wobbling ... it's an expensive toy saber ... not a stunt variant ... I have the MR FX 2005 which only attended at one Art School party then I put it away . . . and later I got myself a modified MR FX from 2007 with a high power red led in the hilt and a stunt blade : check out FX-Sabers and ask your questions at the forum : http://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/ and get your parts to convert here : http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/ or check out the german lightsaber show group : http://www.saberproject.de/de/ and their shop to have your own lightsaber converted : http://shop.saberproject.de/de/
