I too felt the sight lock/unlock" was stiff. I took 600 grit emery board to the edge of the plexi & carefully rounded it off a bit. Locks in place nicely but the rolling action is a lot smoother.
What about using a cloth buffing wheel on a dremel?
I made a little demo video the other day, nothing fancy.

Thanks!
I missed a few things though, such as you can adjust the volume on the sound effects. And I didn't deal with the remote control functions at all.

I'd be very careful using a dremel to polish. The wheel is so small and it spins so fast that you are more likely to burn through the plateing.
Even if you used a cloth buffing part on the dremel?
