Blade Runner Blasters

Hey everyone! So my big thing I'm into is building replicas of Deckard's blaster from the film Blade Runner. I've always loved it and so in conjunction with the man himself Richard Coyle...I am about to embark on a few builds that will be a lot of fun...I'm working right now on a metal/ resin model and an all metal kit for myself. The next few versions will be either blank firing versions or airsoft versions... I am not sure which one yet...all in all I'm hoping to do something fun...they will be as screen accurate as I can get them but finding a blank firing Charter Arms Bulldog has proven to be a dead end!? So, most likely I will be using a .357 or .44 since they are readily available... anyway, I will post pics as I go on the new projects and if anyone ever gas any questions about the PKD Blaster or its builds feel free to hit me up anytime! Cheers!

Isn't a blank firing version just a normal gun? I thought the round was different not the gun itself? Can you tell me what the difference is?

You can convert a legit BullDog into a blank gun, but its an annoying process. You can BUY a blank firing gun but I have never seen a BullDog. The easiest thing to do is to just get an airsoft version if they are still made.

A blank firing pistol is legal for anyone over 18 to own...I have thought of converting a real bulldog for myself at some point but for now I'm going to play with the plugged barrel/ stunt prop versions...
Joberg! Great go gear from you here...
Chaank...blank firing guns cannot ever shoot real rounds due to a plugged barrel and lighter metals...they expel the gas from the rounds through various ports in the barrel or frame...some of the like "Fume" guns are used by movies etc...I don't know how to post photos here so I will have to learn that first before I post any pictures.
I have an all metal Coyle that I'm finishing up for myself and a resin/metal kit that I am also finishing up that will hit EBay as soon as its done. It will come in the brief case from the deluxe edition that I'm going to modify as well...I can't post any sales here yet since I'm so new so until then, its eBay & Propsummit...hope to meet more of you! Cheers!

Here see a few shots of the resin/ metal build before painting and any screws...just fitting the parts and marking the spots for drilling before painting. Gonna use Tamiya paints nickel for the main gun, gunmetal blue for the Steyr receiver and flat black for the ammo clip and side covers. All 7 LEDs will work and the cylinder will release and latch as well. I've also redesigned the bolt action to open more smoothly and a little farther than others as well. All in all, I have spent a lot of time on her so far and still have a ways to go...though once its painted this week and finished with flat acrylic clear coat do it won't chip or fade...then it will be done and ready to assemble and wire up!!! Enjoy! I'm going to post some photos of the metal kit as well eventually.... cheers!

Here are a few shots of the metal kit from Richard Coyle. Honestly, this thing has been a lot of work so far and some of the parts took a bunch of sanding etc just to get them to this point... BUT...the payoff on this baby is going to be well worth the work and sweat!!! I feel like I'm building my own personal blaster for real and its extremely fun and I feel way more connected to this one than any other in my collection. I've sanded and grinded down the parts, drilled all the holes and tapped them and put the entire thing together... I forgot to get a picture fully assembled (DUH!?!?) so that will probably not happen again...I'm going to treat the parts and paint black what needs to be then get this baby assembled and added to my collection. I HIGHLY recommend that anyone who is even remotely crafty pick up one of these kits from Rich and do your own build, its a blast!!! Enjoy...cheers!

No problem at all, if you're on Propsummit you will know I gave it away for free..

I am on there! I just don't want to ever have anyone think I'm profiting from their work...I only had two and I'm keeping one for myself ...the other will go to the lucky winner of this piece!! Thanks for the beautiful work and design...cheers!

I have two Coyles and a Tomenosuke Pro. The Coyles I have are from the LE prop summit kit and a new 2013 metal version. It was pricey, but so worth it.

Glad to see other BR fans out there. I would like to get my hands on a great leather holster, any direction would be appreciated.

I do want to sell my Tomenosuke Pro, but like you Darthwolf7, I am still too new to list anything.

I bought mine from Phil Steinchider its awesome! Almost 100% screen accurate... I suggest him.
