Halo warthog build (power wheels)

Re: Halo warthog Mini build

Small to me is 1/35th scale for model Military Vehicles I like to assemble. For R/C Vehicles I would say 1/10 or smaller. However the term small scale is different for different people. My main limiting factor is where do I store it if I build something big! I have a 1/6th scale model tank sitting in my hobby room which I think is pushing the limits of small scale for me.

Lol that is small. I would like to see the tank. Do you have a photo? 1/6th still sounds pretty big.

new shocks.jpg OOOHHH boy! My new shocks showed up. Im going to try and install these guys tomorrow. I may have to cut some coil out they are still a little stiff.

Re: Halo warthog Mini build

The 1/6 tank model is a M5 Stuart Tank made by 21st Century Toys in the 90's. It was a small light tank used in WW2. I bought it 6 months ago, thought it was an R/C version but is only a static model. I was initially disappointed but I'm thinking I might want to convert it to R/C. If you want I can snap of the tank and post it.

dkaniel: Yes post a pic. I LOVE military vehicles. tubachris85x: I would love to build a full scale. first I have to get the kinks worked out of the mini version. also I dont know if it works yet. it looks cool though. ONE day I hope to be as good as the guys at WETA. they are in the big league. Im still in tee ball.

Re: Halo warthog Mini build

Great work, I really like to see this level of fabrication, such a rarity nowadays. Can't wait to see the finished product

fabmaster: Thank you. IMG_20131112_142014_158-1.jpghad to make a reinforcement plate so the bumper wont pull off.IMG_20131112_150503_904-1.jpg added the step in the bumper and plated it off also some tie down hoops.IMG_20131112_160134_278.jpgIMG_20131112_160156_950.jpgIMG_20131112_160146_552.jpgready to take some abuse now.

Re: Halo warthog Mini build

Are these the final tires, or will you be getting different ones?

Also - Where in Florida are you?

Re: Halo warthog Mini build

OK, I did it. I made shock tabs, mounting plates and attached the shocks. I was too tired to finish. I will finish welding that up soon.IMG_20131114_175834_883-1.jpgIMG_20131114_184358_531.jpgIMG_20131114_184520_404.jpgIMG_20131114_184449_216.jpg

Re: Halo warthog Mini build

IMG_20131118_154502_244.jpgIMG_20131118_175932_767.jpg made a custom drive link. so I can now use any motor i choose. Button the motor in and now tech. i can put batteries to it and it should go. only right now it will throw all the power at once... i dont want that. I will be testing it sooner than later now.... i hope.

Re: Halo warthog Mini build

Finally we get a sense of scale.

It's like half-scale - how cute!

It's like PowerWheels on steroids.
