Our "Ghostbusters" Proton Pack {amalgam pack}

This wound up being mostly a GB1 pack but it does have the GB2 ribbon & the elbows are closer to GB2 than GB1...

Fortunately, this is a project that we had parts for before money became pretty scarce so - once we had the time - we dug in on this one, (we'd purchased the shell & a bunch of parts quite a while ago but hadn't dug in on the project because it seemed fairly daunting at the time).

I think we had to spend about $25-35 on hardware, (bolts, washers, etc), but we were able to keep the costs from the actual starting point onward to a minimum.

We made the N-Filter, Ion Arm Cap & Rod, the Booster Tube, & ribbon mounts by hand & the rest of the stuff we got as seconds from a guy on GBFans a while back.

Anyway, here are some making of pix, (my son managed to photobomb one of them). :) We're basically at the point where all we have left to do is:

01. Decals
02. Thrower
03. Lights/Sound

Not sure yet. :) I'm sorta' fond of the pristine look, if I'm being honest, but I haven't really decided...

Keep it pristine. I don't really care for the faux weathering. I go for more of the OMNI cover look.

Here's mine, as of November 2nd.

It still needs lights/sound, proper lenses, labels, and the shock mount.

I'd also like to replace the waist strap/kidney pad at some point. My shoulder straps are LC-1s, but the waist portion is from an LC-2.

Alex/"DocNewborn",

For reference, you can use the files referenced in the signature of the first poster in this thread/at this link for your labels, (the Pro version has a page specifically for Foils):

"Slime Blower Decals - Rev. 3 (7-3-2011) - Community - Ghostbusters Fans Forum"

I used labels/label paper from this site/on this page & really like the way they turned out, (I have access to some nice color laser printers):

"Weatherproof Silver Polyester Laser - Full Sheet Label - With No Diagonal Back Slits In The Label Liner - OL177 - 8.5" x 11""

{The paper chosen by that link is the one that I printed the 'foil' labels on & it looks REALLY good.}

Anyway, I thought that might be of a little assistance to ya' & perhaps to others.

If I knew it was acceptable, I'd print up a few for folks at cost but I think - since I don't have the explicit permission of the original creator of the files referenced above - that would probably be frowned upon. :)

...moving on. :)

Thrower almost done, (decals & touch up paint remain - plus getting it properly hooked up to the pack)...

:)
