I wasn't really sure if I wanted to participate in the contest with this costume... but let's give it a try!
This is my Judge Dredd costume from the Dredd 3D movie. I started with the helmet, sculpting it with NSP Chavant medium. I decided to make a movie/comic hybrid shape for the helmet, because being small as I am, I believe a big and bulky helmet like the movie one would make me look like a Space Ball.
Then, my girlfriend made the vest, with mesh lining fabric
I added the armor pieces, which I made heating foam and pressing it against some PVC templates
Reciently, my girlfriend made a new neck with pleather, as suggested by some users here
My first shoulder pads were made with foam:
But I've upgraded them and made a resin version:
For these pieces, I bought some skater pads and added a foam piece:
A friend of mine had a badge and a belt buckle and gave them to me (I don't know where he got them from).
For the lawgiver, I bought a toy gun and painted it (I will make a movie version when I have some time)
. For the boots, gloves and gun holster I used some from my father's old cop uniform.
Gloves:
Pics of the finished costume:
Proof photo:
And, since the background is so uninspiring in all those photos, I want to upload this one to the gallery (I didn't touch the costume at all, just changed the background)
