Witch King of Angmar

Thank you all for your very kind words or praise. I will most definitely post some pics of the whole thing once I have had a chance to make some minor tweaks. Should be next week sometime.

p.s. the flaming sword is looking awesome so far, another few coats of paint and I will be ready to post the pics for that...stay tuned
 
REALLY REALLY AWESOME. I love that character, and you've nailed it. So you're saying I could get that made for $400 huh? Plus shipping if course..... :)
 
In response to a previous question regarding the total weight, the answer is 47 lb for the entire costume, armor, robes, boots, helmet and 8 ft of steel chain used as the outer belt for effect. Not too bad, but Im sure I will be pretty tired after walking around a convention all day with this much extra weight. Its like carrying around my 4 year old all day long minus the whining!
 
Here is the flaming sword. It started as a cheapo costume sword flimsy plastic sword. I split it open and put in a steel pipe for strength. I added the flames using craft foam and lots (and lots) of hot glue. Then many coats of yellow, orange and red paint. The handle was really cheap looking so I sculpted a new handle over the existing using epoxy putty.

Thanks Lando, you are very kind! I will definitely take some pic sof the whole costume once I have had a chance to stop and take a breath! Literally the minute I finished with this Witch King build, I started working on my TMP Iron Man build for the upcoming san diego comicon! This is insane, I remembered when you started this build and have been waiting for you to finish and it looks completely awesome. Great job!
 
definitely jealous. My witch king outfit looks way too plain and fake feeling after looking at this.... Sadly I only have the tools/funds to work with bondo/cardboard. Props on the outfit, definitely set the bar on homemade replicas that I have seen.
