Yet another in a growing line of props that we've assembled from stuff we gathered before the financial restructuring of our family corporation.
This is more of a tulip knockoff than a Burke 115, obviously. However, since it was pretty close & I had wanted to give one of these a try, I got this a while back.
Now, since I'm mostly working on things I already have parts for, (or which I can cobble together for REALLY cheap - such as the garment from "The Thing"), I'm putting some effort into this chair.
I had everything EXCEPT some paint to reasonably match the color of the bridge chairs, (I don't have the 'triangles' for the back of the chair, I'll have to construct them at some point). Leftovers from other projects: Extra black marine vinyl, scrap 1/8" plywood, & scrap foam - will be used to construct the seat/backrest next...
So, with some mineral spirits, sanding, self-etching primer, (SO glad I had some of the etching primer for the fiberglass lying about - couldn't have afforded MORE of that paint, it's spendy!), & patience...
I wound up with this/am at this point:
Pardon a couple of the attached images, specifically the first couple which have been Instagram'd. {Yeah, I torture my family/friends with this obsession via social media. }
...& Merry Christmas, if you celebrate the holiday! If not, Happy Tuesday!
