Hello there
I used to hang around here for quite some time, and now I felt the need to finally register a account.
Let me introduce first.
I am 42 years old ( yap I am old ) and I am located in Austria/Europe. I do modelbuildung since my teens and I am hooked to Star Wars since age of 5 or 6. Just recently, mid Nov last year I introduced myself to the Bandai kits, and man, in all those years I have never seen anything awesome like them. I used to have all the MPC/Ertl kits back then, but compared to the Bandais, they look like toys ships now, not to speak of the recent Revell kits.
Since I am a little resticted of space due some other collections ( scaled replicas, selected figures, etc. ) and of course my wife I focus on the 1:72 of Bandai as I think they are the perfect size. Not to small, not to big. I just hope they will continue that scale for quite some time and hopefully re-released some kits too, A 72 Falcon, Slave I and U-Wing would be awesome, also wouldn´t mind a set of Snowspeeders or the AT-ST done in 72.
I also hope they come up with a set of extra Death Star surface tiles sometime
Here a few pics of the kits I´ve done since Nov.
A-Wing Fighter:
my introduction kit, the extra Death Star turret did it
TIE Interceptor:
barely noticeable, I did a blueiish layer of drybrush
X-Wing Fighter:
I am sooo tempted to pick up another pair, to do both Wedge and Biggs fighter as well
First Order TIE Fighter:
I have the OT TIE in waiting line, as well as the Y-Wing, Vaders TIE and Resistance X-Wing somewhere in the mail
I might get starting the figures too, especially the droids, maybe the Scout Tooper with Speeder Bike too
As for my painting, I don´t use anything special. I use standard, nonamed, waterbased flat acryls from the hobbystore around the corner. Everything is painted by hand with old school brushes. I do not use cans or airbrush, no "special" weathering sets or oils. And I am not exactly a friend of decals, so everything on the X-Wing is painted,
ATTENTION !!
Feel free to post any kind of feedback, pro or contra or what else, but keep photos of YOUR items out of MY showroom THX
