Hi Desolate, the brand is Halfords so that may be just a UK thing? let me know although it is a Ford colour. Not sure ont he gold but I can find out real soon.

Great to se the changes. I belive it will give you allot more movement as well as the legs will get closer to your body and the midsection looking longer. :) keep us updated with photos.

Both paints are UK car colors and can not be obtained in US... Strangly enought. We treid to figure out the color code, but we cant get to match according to US customer.

We used Ford and Renault colors.

We are looking into different international colors. Problem is color match and availibility.

okay well i am going to go to a color matching place today and see if they can help me out. I heard they scan the color and match it perfectly. so if i find the colors over here in the US i will definately post them..

okay so i went to the color matching place here were i live. here is what i got..

on the label it says Ford 1969 Dark Red

and the gold says general motors corp 82-82 Gold Wing- Effect

it cost me 15$ here. I hope that helps people. i will post pics of how it drys on the suit and keep everyone updated on it.

Very nice, i personally opened the vent shaft on top and made a cut opening in the mouth aboce the jawline of my helmet. it got a good flow of air.


Please let us know your experience about this mod.
Just wondering if you will be able to se trought the sides.

BTW... How well does the paint match. Could they find it by just the name or did they a color comparrison for you.
Please let me know because more people from the States have asked, i have had past problems helping people finding the paint in US.
This is bloddy fantastic news. This meen we can keep the color that we are using now.

after painting all the dremelled parts the red is spot on to the paint you used.. but the gold is a bit off . it works and is barely even noticable. but still is a bit darker than the paint you used. when i get time i will post pics of it.

Wow, questions real quick for ya bud;

$15 per quart can or for both?
Plus, is there no need to activate this paint?
Can you type out the labels..I can't read some of the stuff in the pic. ;-)
And, are you using a grey or red primer?

It was 15$ for both of them

there is no activation to the paint i just opened the can and brushed it on. the gold is a shade to dark. i am going to get some more samples and see if those work. I am not sure what was in the red. i know the scanned the armors paint and color matched it perfectly. the gold had some metallic in it and would not dry correctly without a primer. i used a spray can primer and brushed the gold on.. Like i said it is a bit to dark. but not noticeable. i will post pics and get you the info typed out when i get off of work..

It would be cool for one of you Iron Men to post a video or series of photos on a start-to-finish suit up. I'm just curious as to how it all the pieces work and come together. But regardless, all these pics look great, and the armor rocks! Anyone got a 6'6" version I can borrow? :D
