Since this thread has been revived, I'll say that since my post from 2018 I've branched out into several other cosplays.
I'm in my 60's now, and as you see I've followed these principles:
-the only things I'll put on my head are glasses and/or a hat (no helmets, masks, wigs, or prosthetics).
-the only things I'll put on my feet are comfortable well-fitting shoes or boots so I can be on my feet for 8 hours without any issues.
-my clothing must be as cool and comfortable as possible (no armour, fur suits, etc).
There's a surprisingly large number of characters that fit within these parameters. I've got several other costume ideas and all of them have these things in common.
