when worlds collide

I watched the above movie just the other day. This was just after i found out my xbox can play movie blue rays and DVDs.
While most of the costumes are clothing for the 1950s one item stood out for me. What looks like a pull over rain coat.
I have tried some web searching and had no luck. it might be a military surplus item.
Thanks for any help or info!

Looks like a military ski parka, except usually they're white or reversible with white on one side.
That was my thought as well. Have not found any that are close. The Anorak that division 6 suggested are close but the neck on all the vintage ones I see online have a V neck that is laced. They also have a large pocket with a flap. The film used ones look kind like a canvas hodie.
With a single pocket low on the front for hands.
Thanks for all the pics!

That is a lot closer. Where is that from. It looks like a more modern version.

Found it HERE.
Unfortunately the site listed doesn't have them anymore.

The design is simple enough that you could easily make one.
Plenty of simple patterns that could easily be modified to match the screen used ones.
Green Pepper comes to mind as well as Burda and Simplicity.
Bushcrafter sites also tend to have patterns.

Looked around that site. They had a white one that was closer.
It looked shorter than the ones in the movie.
Next time I am in town I will stop at the fabric store and see if there is a pattern close to what I want.
Thanks for the help!
