Terminator 2 Harley Fat Boy 1/6th scale

Back with another version of the steering mount. I had to rebuild as I hadn't realized the areas circled would be visible once the bike was assembled. The other photos show the construct dry-fitted to the main body of the bike to make sure it all lined up. And it does.

And yet another version of the steering mount! This one is finally accurate with the addition of the welded plate at the rear and the cable holder built into the shaft so it rotates when the shaft rotates.

Rightly or wrongly, I decided to attach the front fork, fender and wheel assembly to the main frame. No going back now. It's starting to take shape. I'm pretty happy with the pinstripe color match.

That's a thing of beauty, Mike! Great to see all your hard work and dedication to detail come together in a once in a lifetime piece!

I'm wondering if I could print a 1/6 terminator on my Elegoo. At the very least I could find a shotgun stl file that matches what was used on screen.

Hi Kris, I'd be interested to see such a 3d print. I have the Hot Toy figure from the film, which has remained boxed for the last 5 years.

I'll see if I can find a really great sculpt and print up something... Definitely not 1/6th, but a smaller scale to see how it would compare.

Hi all, currently grappling with the joys of poor continuity. Two different throttle cable configurations on what is supposed to be one bike. Leaning towards config 2 as it seems to appear most often in the film but happy to take advice. Let's call it a Christmas vote.

I'd base it off of what's a more badass picture... I'm leaning towards the first pic you posted since it has Arnold on the bike... But, if there's a better picture, maybe with him holding the shotgun, I'd go with that and whatever throttle cable they are using.

It's obvious they had more than one of these bikes for the film, but it baffles me that they don't pay attention to these minute details...lol

Hey Kris, I'm going to go with the cable arrangement showing in this picture. It looks harder to build :p which is probably the dumbest reason to go this route but hey, I like a challenge. In case it's too blurry to tell, it's configuration 2.

Here's the new throttle cable mounts and a couple of shots of the brake line cable, mounted through the bolt in the steering column. That was tricky. Last build items before the Holidays start.

Waiting on the arrival of some Plastruct 0.8mm hexagonal rod, which translates into a 1.6mm wide hexagon. That was the problem with the version I posted. I tried to freehand the hexagonal shape at the end of the cable mounts out of some plastic rod. Not a good idea, especially when its a polished aluminium finish that will highlight every irregularity. Thankfully the supplier is here in New Zealand, so every chance I'll get it in the next couple of days.

Finished the throttle cable mounts version II, accurized some bolt work on the handle bars, and made some cable ties out of black adhesive vinyl. Just waiting on some 0.8mm Tamiya vinyl cable to arrive from Hong Kong to finish the cabling once and for all and glue the handle bars permanently in place.

Quick question followers. How are motorcycle models mounted? I see some with mounting stands. If I use the bike kick stand I'll need a textured surface (road simulation) for it to rest on so it doesn't slip. And I'd like to see if I can put Arnie on the bike in an iconic pose which will involve me sculpting a right hand to hang onto the hand grip which is already designed to be removable so I can pose the bike with or without Arnie on it.
