Many of the rebellion characters appear to wear a similar style double-breasted shirt. I've often seen people using the McCalls 7760 sewing pattern, and that seems pretty spot on from the pictures people have posted of the front of the pattern envelope. These vintage patterns seem hard to come by. As more people create costumes with this shirt, I imagine they will grow more scarce. Since this is a common costume piece, I am wondering...

Has anyone reproduced this pattern with a scan or digital image to be printed out?
Is there a current pattern-maker which produces a new version of the vintage pattern?

This free pattern for Han's jacket in his film includes a shirt. Not tried it myself, but I'm in the process of sorting out the printed out pattern.

Hello,

First you need to find a old shirt who fit you well (shoulder , waist , chest ...)

Next you disasemble it to get the pattern brut who is the correct size for you

Now you can do modification for the back who will be made of 2 parts. You put the line at the correct place. (On mine i let the full back part with the upper back part on lit to get two layer of fabrics.

For the collar , You follow what you have on your normal shirt for the perimeter neck size that will connect to the rest of the shirt. You can adapt the size and add severals layer of fabrics to get a good thickness on it.

The front part of your Rebel shirt have a rectangle. You draw a rectangle on paper and when you think you have the correct one, you made it in two layers of fabric and fix it on the shirt.

Exactly! It seems to be just like a Star Wars galaxy polo shirt. And it looks way better than an Earth polo shirt too.

Also, Thank you both for the tips! These are great places to start. For me, I am going to try out the Mood Sewciety pattern. The pattern has both the shirt and the jacket. For those of you who will also use it and are planning to make the shirt only, you’ll want to print the following pages:
PDF page number (Page number printed on the sheet)
4-11 (3-10)
16-21 (15-20)
26-31 (25-30)
36-41 (35-40)
48-51 (41, 42, B19, B20)

To make the shirt like those besides the one Han wears in the Han Solo Story (which the pattern imitates), I am making the collar square rather than diagonal at the throat.
