R2D2 A Journey - 1:2.3 scale

I recently finished my R2 build after two years.
It was great fun and I managed to do a fair bit of modifications along the way.
Here is how he turned out.

Also - looks like you repainted the prepainted parts?

Yes I did repaint all the parts. I just wasn’t happy with the stock paints they used. I referenced them from different sources including the two R2 builders clubs.
I also did R2 super cuts of the original trilogy with every frame that he appears in.

Cool. What did you use for the blue parts? I've been testing some automotive semi-translucent purple and blue.

There are various blue/purple mixes out there..
The one I chose was Plastikote fast dry project enamel 1350 FDE AERO BLUE METALLIC
