Has anyone identified what the device that Captain Janek has around his neck? It looks like some sort of floating compass, maybe half of a clamshell compass. I've gone cross-eyed looking at compass images, and haven't had come across anything close.

I like the analog stopwatch idea, but I don't think those bumps at the bottom are buttons. It looks like the latch on a friction lock, like this was part of something else or had a clamshell cover at one point. It's probably part of some larger survival kit.

Looks like they took something like a Silva Ranger and flipped the compass around and inserted it in the lid (and painted it)
