Pee-Wee's Big Adventure Bike

A little playing around with my bags today. I drilled out the rings to mount and cut down one of the signal stats. I'm going to play with the placement a little, but I wanted to see how it looked.

The bike at the BMA was missing it's rings, so I replaced it with these same rings, except that I had the chrome bead blasted off, leaving the same finish as what you see on the Hollywood Museum bike. I decided to leave mine chromey like the other bits on the bike. I'll do a second set of bags with a more accurate ring....and foil for the chrome part.

I cut the signal stat. I left mine a little longer than the one on the real bikes, but they were all cut down for the movie.....very poorly I might add.

Wow. I'll probably do mine a little differently, because I want to light them. One of the few non screen accurate things that I want to do.

If you find a shot of the scene where the rockets engage through the rear taillights, you can see there exists a set a bags where the whole lens are held in from behind and there is a mechanism that moved them back and forth within a hole.

Anyone out there have a spare red signal stat for sale? I been watching watching a mint one on ebay and finally bought it but need one more.

Thanks guys

Frank, those lenses are not impossible to find and the companies making them are legit lens companies, the run about 10 bucks each, i remember finding them and posting about it, hut when i went to order the price had gone up.

Yeah that is exactly it, i may have some i can show side by dide, it just a duplicate of the tooling. It doesnt have the signal stat markings.
