Legend: Fine performances by Tom Hardy as both Kray bros and David Thewliss is always good, but generally the film was flat.
A Walk in the Woods: Wonderful to see Redford, Nolte, and Thompson, but this was on the dull side. Beautiful scenery though. And, yikes does Nick Nolte look like hell! Perfect for the character though.
Crimson Peak: a real old-school 19th-century Gothic horror story complete with scary ghosts and creepy house. A very nice feel to it and solid performances, but it drags just a bit in spots. Still very worth seeing if interested.
The Man From U.N.C.L.E. I was disappointed. It seemed more a pastiche of a cold war spy story than an actual story in itself. The performances were acceptable but it was more a catalog of clothes, slinky women, and other trappings of 60s spy films. The 1st act was good, but it fizzled out after that for me. Not as fun as it could have been.
Eye of the beholder, folks.
