Reprinted the wing details at alot higher height. That way I can mold and mirror image the mold, instead of making a left and right-handed mold. Coating with xtc to smooth, and get all the stringing off. I find that a coat or two makes the stringing brittle and pop off.
Also, ear domes finally attached to the helmet. Next, fill the gaps between the ear domes so the mold doesnt tear.
Debating if I should add the valleys to the side triangluar details on the helmet. I am torn looking at the Rand helmet from the comic vs the toy.
This is that 90% point where you can just cast or go for "more perfect." And yeah, the side details are prolly a bit too big, but I am hoping the kids/adults who see it won't notice and have a fit. The helmet on the toy is also rounder, but if I made it too round I would have to pad it, and since I want some cast semi-transparent, that would mean alot more resin, which loses transparency and adds weight. I want to cast a few helmets, including a Rand gold, with glow-in the dark pigment, and a blue like shown on the original toy.
If I make an acroyear, it will be hammered out of metal. I dont want my head encased in resin that causes Cancer in California, just in case I ever go to California again. Right? Isnt that how it works? Causes cancer in California, stay out of California!!!
