Yeah, I can see the edge isn't beveled the same looks like it was just sanded clean. The edge from the screen caps show an angle that's hard to pinpoint and can easily be missed because of that.
But it seems it was a commisioned piece made professionally for the promo. I'm willing to bet the promo helmet doesnt have the proper detailing inside either.

For those who said the helmet looks CGI...it most likely is.

Putting something like that on an actor's head is going to severely shade his face. So it's likely that they shot any scenes where they needed to see his face in the helmet WITHOUT the helmet and added it in later so they could add any shadows they wanted rather than trying to remove shadows in post or rig some sort of lighting in the helmet. (Both are difficult to impossible)

Great job so far! Can't wait to see this completed.

great shots, the helmet looks so different from those angles, especially the first shot, I've been working on my own version of this helmet and this those pics will really come in handy!

the dark primer was what i had handy.

I am to a point where i need to make a waste cast
for further work.
the foam , styrene and bondo is starting to break through in parts

I think no one has caught the center down apex curls outward like the side eye apex's do. For safety and comfort, I believe for this reason. I noticed this weeks ago but failed to mention it. My apologies. What do you guys think, would you agree?

Its automotive paint, metallic burgundy ,metallic purple and clear coat.

Ohh, it's getting close!

Minor nitpick though: I think the eye area on your helmet flares out a bit too much. If you compare it to a head-on screenshot, yours looks like the eye area is too wide, or the helmet is too narrow.

At this point i am going to make a waste mold and a waste cast for
further detailing and cleanup.
The spit and bondo dust and twigs :lol are not playing well together.

I have not seen the movie or a good screen cap of the new helmet crest.
But i did used my comic style crest for a test.

My thought is to just include the crest and you can build it how ever you want.
