M56 SmartGun BFONG Full Auto Build

Like I said, it explicitly says for film/tv inquiries only, however the armory I work for had purchased several crates of firearms from him a few years ago, including Saving Private Ryan stuff, so I have a way of getting a contact and feeler inquiry.
Yeah unfortunately with the site not being updated since 2012 the verify portion wont load the image so currently your my only POC to them

Well the MG42 is finally done

I have a few more payments on it and itll likely be here by late April or mid June

Sad part is that for a full auto build i would need to weld the barrel door shut and fix it with a blank firing barrel (still going to do it but itll be a while after its received)

I do plan to start releasing a few custom metal cast AR-125 brackets on the side to help fund this project (as well as account for the cost of the MG42) so for those interested in metal brackets theyll be here soon

Ok so lots of things have happened that i kinda have to make relevant in case some dont know:

First off good news, I have managed to snag a sl-85 for cheap (came with a lot of calculators i can resell)

Second off bad news, I'm kinda glad i didn't buy from chefs creations yet cause apparently theres been quite a few issues with his castings and electronics hes been putting out (and the fact that hes generally rude to people who have issues or ask questions regarding his kits) then theres the whole issue with James Forder having his equipment and materials stolen (but i have no say on that given i dont know all the details on that). But regardless theres issues with chefs kits and be wary if you want to buy from him

Lastly more good news, I did get in contact with James Forder and he agreed to make a custom ammo counter for the smartgun using some unique eightron nixie tubes i can salvage from a dead sanyo calculator (usually they use them in the Ghostbusters kit but its a waste of the digit as you never see them illuminated) and do some castings for the smartgun peices i need from the kit (chefs absolutely did not want to do this and tried to force a full price sell for those parts)

So the ammo counter will have it range from 150, 100, and 50 rounds respectively (i dont know for sure if it will be able to hold 150 rounds but im sure itll hold 100 easily like the mg08 drum mag)

So far this build is taking a bit longer than expected but i guess thats the price i pay for trying to get a real MG42 for it

BFONG stands for Blank Firing Only Non Gun

Essentially it will be a 1:1 accurate version (some slight variances due to part availability but im hoping to keep it mostly accurate)
In the "Aliens M577APC Full size build discussion thread", I posted a link to a chest rig on Amazon retailing for a couple hundred bucks.

Wow. It's probably going to cost me less than $3,900.00 to build the full-size Driveable replica M577 APC!

It's been on my bucket list for far too long, I'm moving to a new shop next month, and I'm very very tempted to Just Do It. If I keep coming up with reasons to postpone the build, eventually I'm gonna kick the bucket and then it'll be too late.

Well if you do get it built id love to get on the ready line for it!

If you can could you send a link to that page? Id be interested to see how its done

Hey, I'm confused about what you're doing here ... not an attack in any way, just wanting to help. The 08 drum mag is waaay bigger than the 42 drum ... your commissioned counter is for your Smartgun, yeah (not the Sentry gun?), and you're planning on using the 42 drum? The 42 drum holds 50rds ... you might be able to squeeze more in (like, a couple more), but you'd risk feeding issues.
If you don't have a 42 drum yet, I'm happy to measure one of mine up for you.

I plan to consult with a local welder/fabricator here for a few custom drum mags (again depending on the size i think the 100 round drums might be the limit)

Well i think im gonna have to lengthen a few wires but i think this one will fit

Also managed to track down the Megatron g1 scope peice but im gonna have to get the front peice to it

For those who would want to help out with the headset i have made a separate post for that for programming a HUD overlay with a animation for when the headset is turned to the left or right

For those wondering id like to model this from the AVP 2010 game as it seems to be more faithful to the aliens series (even if its a crossover game i still believe its faithful to the aliens series more than colonial marines was....also that hud is a little out there with information compared to the AVP 2010 game)

Well folks i finally found one of the most hard to find peices out there and i cannot stress my excitement for it (not so much as the mg42 however but still excited nonetheless)

The superswitch intruder alarm complete in box (couldn't find the box photo but its there)

Because of this unforseen purchase the mg42 purchase has been pushed back by 1 week (unless i get a good week or 2 in work)

I know im getting a little off topic from the smartgun but while thats being funded i did manage to come across this gem and its purely 1:1 accurate (minus a few details)

Just needs some touch-ups here and there and itll be perfect for use in a short film i even managed to get a battery pack for it as well! (Very rare to find those)
