Hi every one well after 4 months of work I have completed a large scale version of the Nostromo ship from the film alien, a full scratch build with a great many kit p[arts attached it is just iover 7 feet long 4 plus feet wide and about 20 inches high. I built it in sections as you can see from the images so that it could be trans[ported to the sci fi museum at Milton Keynes for display. Please let me know what you think as this will help me to make better models in the future.

What an amazing job you've done of capturing the detail of the original. Next time I travel to the National Computing Museum at Bletchley Park I'll check out the Sci Fi Museum - I'd love to see that thing in person. Incredible.

Hello Lanboy,
I am glad that you like the model, it was a long but rewarding build as it is made up of at least sections each of which was a model in its own right. I hope you get chance to see it in person, even I have not seen all the parts assembled as I do not have the space for it, which why it was built in sections also to aid transport should it be displayed any where else than the museum.

take care
regards Barrie ( the old guy )

WOW!!! (y) This is quite the beautiful beast of a behemoth! I agree I’d love to see this in it’s entirety. Great job Barrie!

Thank you guys for the great comments, I wish that I did have an image of the completed model but it was so big that I had nowhere to put it all together, I am hoping once the new section of the museum is up and running and the model has been painted by none other than LEE STRINGER who I am sure many of you will know from the firefly series and start trek series, then Lee I am sure will send me some images of her all fully assembled. I weill then post them as soon as I get them from the museum. As for building the Snark I may give it a go, at the moment I am having a short break from model making to get other things done around the house ( decorating ) but after my break and before starting on another museum project ( top secret at the moment ) I will build a small version and post it.
