Of course, there's no project too simple for me to overcomplicate. It got into my head to not let paint get on the contacts inside the plug holes, so I took it apart to paint the tube separately. But I failed to take my own usual advice, in that I did not think like an under pressure art department worker. There's no way they went to that trouble. And indeed, as I look at pics, I see no glint of bare metal in there. So I might redo that.
I also had parts left over. Doubtful anyone will ever try to use this as a flash again, but I stowed them in the battery compartment just in case.
I also decided the orange boxes needed a little trimming for the ANH version, and proceeded to cut the damn thing....crooked.
Anyway, here's my....."masterpiece". The flash makes it shinier than it is, but still, I think the satin could stand to be knocked down with a misting of flat or semi-flat.
