I Went Last Crusading Last Week

Last week, we road tripped down to Palisade; Colorado’s wine country. My wife is a respectable wino, which is how she deals with me. Traveling to Palisade, 2-3 times a year is a matter of necessity in order to recharge her wino energy cells. The fall colors were still out and it could not have been more beautiful.

In any case, it had been about 9 years since I had been in Moab so we decided to take a morning and press on the additional hour and a 1/2 into Arches National Park, where I snapped these pics:

Funny thing is, I grew up in a small town in southwest Colorado, about 55 minutes from Chama, NM (where the opening scenes with the circus railroad were filmed) and close to Antonito, CO (where Indiana’s childhood home was filmed). Check the links out, below.

I remember hearing rumors that Harrison Ford was sighted in our town over the summer of ‘88, in our town newspaper, but never paid attention to it. Evidently, he ate/stayed at our town’s closest thing to a 4 star hotel.

One of these days, on a trip back home, I’ll snap some pics of the Jones home (it’s now a bed and breakfast but the mailbox is still outside) and the railroad.
