Has anyone used My Perfect Color for colour matched paints?

Floquil Color Paint Matches

Match of Pantone PMS 7544 C (close to the Pactra Stormy Sea colour for Imperial TIEs)

MyPerfectColor offers any color in a fast-drying acrylic enamel paint that is available in spray paint, paint pens and brush in cap bottles.

I've no idea what they're like but prices seem reasonable, and they'll match to any sample they're sent. There might be setup fees which they adjust for quantity. It's worth reading their FAQs.

Our team matches Floquil paint colors in many different variations, ranging from spray paints and all the way to the most specific touch up paints. The most common paint types for modeling paint would be the acrylic enamel, but MyPerfectColor will provide these colors in a wide variety of paint types including custom artist acrylics and even house paint.

I've been told they use Fedex for international shipping, too, which pushes the cost way up if you're outside the US. I did get the impression they're flexible on batch fees depending on quantity ordered, though.

I used their service many years ago before I had an HVLP paint system set up. I needed a very specific red that was otherwise not available in a rattle can. The color seemed to be correct, but the can was either under-filled or under-pressured. Perhaps both. I don’t know if I just got a dud can or what, but at the price they charge I wasn’t super happy.

Is their writeup correct? They make it sound like Floquil started as a product of Testors. I didn’t think it was until the 90s or whenever it was that the owner of Testors bought up a bunch of specialist paint companies including the makers of Floquil.

I ordered 7 or 8 cans of spray paint from them a few months ago matching the color for a restoration. I was happy with the color match. If I needed to, I would use them again. I think it was about $160 - $170 including shipping; I didn't need that much but because of the batch fee, it made sense to get some extra cans which I will eventually use.

Okay, that's good to know. Thanks for the info.

I just realised this forum's for showing off models and not for tips and techniques. Apologies to all, and mods should feel free to delete my two threads.
