GREMLINS Part 1 Stop Motion Puppet and Part 2 Hand Puppet

We've updated our site today with a pair of new Gremlins projects.

First up was a small stop-motion gremlin puppet from the first film. Condition was fairly rough and flaky and the client wanted us to preserve, rather than restore this piece. With her input, we did make some slight improvements to his hand, ear and eyes to help make the piece display just a little better. He's now in much better physical shape, with his paint and foam strengthened and he displays quite nicely, while retaining a true "artifact of production" look.

The second is a bit more drastic - a restoration of a brown hand puppet from Gremlins 2, the New Batch. As with many of these puppets, his neck had badly torn from years of storage hanging on a post. We created a custom body insert to properly support him over time and restored the damage. This one's got a GREAT face... a big evil grin and huge, floppy ears. The ears had a good bit of damage on the reverse side and Mike Thomas, lead artist on this restore, did a great job of bringing those back to life.

I hope you enjoy the pics... If you want to see more Gremlins restorations, please visit our site: Gremlins Movie Prop Puppet Restorations and Displays
