Haha painting isn't too bad... That's actually my favorite part... If you were local, I would help you out with paint...

That is amazing!
Only one word... WOW!! Truly amazing! You can get very good results with pepakura, fiberglass and bondo but 3D printing is so much more efficient and easy to use when you can do 3D modeling! I am truly considering to buy a 3D printer or make one myself but I would need more infos on what would be better. So what are you using? What printer and what software? Also, your models of this boot is stunning! So much details and precision! Would you be open to share it or you want to keep it for yourself? I would really be interested in getting your files and I could even help you with modeling!
In brief, awesome work you did here and really looking forward to this thread!
Damn this makes me wanna cry!
I know 3d printing costs much, and was probably wondering, if in some time you're gonna make copies and sell 'em? To get back the costs of course?
do you have to sand those pieces and just wondering if youre doing a full suit and how much the files will be... thanks
im getting a 3d printer so im curious?
Yes, there will be filling in and priming and sanding for sure. You could paint right on it but you will see the ridges on the layers of printing. I don't know if I would suggest sanding the print without applying a filler just because the sidewalls are not actually very thick as it is. It is strong enough to walk around in but for painting it is definitely better to cover this with something beforehand. The full suit will take quite a while as we are working on the exoskeleton next, along with the left gauntlet and helmet for their electronics integration. We need sponsors to complete the whole suit in a reasonable amount of time though, which is what I'm hoping for soon!
